A Summer Series #3: Meant to Move

Ever tried to sit

To be stillness

Feels so impossible

Stillness, that is

To be is to be in motion

Moving

Never still

For too long, ‘cause see

Even the trees

Never fully halt

Tipping, toeing

Shaking, dancing

Giving away to the gust

The slightest of swirls

Teasing you

Just watch it

That moment when you

Think movement ceased

Motion slides in, and

One moment becomes another

One thought becomes another

One should’ve becomes another

So why then, be still

When the very idea of stillness

Requires motion to seek it out

We are meant to move

So just be, just be

Be in motion

Like the tree

Stand still

And move
